How-to Instructions in 90-min
Now that 2021 hunters are preparing for their Alaska hunts, I’m getting calls from Troy’s clients asking for information on proper meat care, tips on loading rafts, and general advice for river hunting and ridgetop access. The most common questions revolve around dealing with meat in remote areas coupled with small rafts and long field stays.
It’s obvious that Troy has yet to develop the education and ethics component of his new business model. And while he’s on my shit list for copying my gear and business model, his guests still need support. I encourage all of you to ask Sessions for better resources to help you properly prepare for your hunt. Until then, here are some free videos that should help you avoid float hunting missteps:
Project Bloodtrail: How to Properly Salvage, Preserve and Transport Wild Game
Mitigate Spoilage in the Backcountry: Enlightening science behind wild meat preservation
Larry Bartlett on Youtube has 50 videos showing various models. The ones you might find more valuable are the designs Troy Sessions copied and likely uses for your hunt, the PR49 and the Kork. There are many titles with pertinent subject matter and packing/doing concepts here, even raft field repairs to help you go prepared: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqXy1Xv177lGgMNLMCi2r_Q
